Hendersonville High School

This building burned down in 19??. It was constructed in 1923. Ironically, the one buildt in 1923 was a replacement for the previous one that also burned. The 19?? Pontiac in front of the building belonged to Sonny Breland, which dates this picture between 1956-1959.

Cane Branch Grade School.

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. After that they were transferred to Hendersonville High School.

Heyward Grade School

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. After that they were transferred to Hendersonville High School. Although the Insurance database has it marked as the Hendersonville Colored School, it is actually the Heyward Grade School and never accommodated colored children. Part of this school still stands. It is located on Hwy 21 about 5 miles south of Sniders Cross Roads.

Hendersonville Grade School.

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. After that they were transferred to Hendersonville High School. This school was located on the same lot just behind the high school

Heyward Colored School

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. Does anyone know exactly where it was located?

Sniders Colored School.

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. Does anyone know exactly where this school was located?

Sniders Grade School

Students attended this school through the 6th Grade. After that they were transferred to Walterboro High School, although a few of them did wind up attending Hendersonville High School.
